Friendship That Has Evolved

Friendship That Has Evolved

From, ‘How are you?’ to, ‘How are you coping?’, and ‘How are you surviving?’ things has changed a lot. An announcement of pandemic and lock-down swiftly changed everyone’s life. We know, of course, that this is a sad, lonely, and stressful time and people are struggling with the pressures and challenges caused by the ongoing situation. Not only the infected one, but even those of us who are well and virus-free are also finding the sudden changes in our lifestyles to be challenging. Since everyone is going through this pandemic, I believe every single person has a deeper understanding of exactly how everyone is dealing with the impact of the pandemic on the active lifestyles.

Amidst this pandemic, it is encouraging to me that technology and apps like Zoom, Meet have exploded at this time, showing how desperate our real need for rapport building is. And I must say through this trials and tribulations, my most constant supporters are the “Prayer warriors” (our prayer group name), whom we’ve chosen to strengthen connections with. It would be an injustice if I did not mention the warmth and love they are showering on to me via the virtual video calls. I can feel the happiness being found within this group. From praying for this pandemic situation to sharing our very own personal prayers, from worshipping together to playing games, from being a complete stranger to a close circle, from sharing our blessings to our craziest experience without the fear of being criticized, life has taken a turn. This situation for sure taught me that friendship is not only limited with the ones who are available for a last-minute hanging after work or the ones spending a lazy day on the sofa with pizza and Netflix, or having a heart to heart over a two-hour lunch. It’s beautiful when I think about it, how friendship is deepening through this awful time even though some of us have hardly met. God be with us and our group.

We are conveying our love and prayers to all those who have undergone and are still enduring the widespread effects of this virus. May all the sacrifices made come to fruition. This too shall pass. Stay safe everyone.

  1. Another wonderful piece of art by writing and conveying your inner thought with hope and love in such time as these. Delighted to be part of this article and more importantly being our own prayer warriors (dons). Much love, prayer and blessings..
